Advantages of Private Chartered Flights

February 12th, 2010

Chartering a private jet involves a number of advantages over flying commercially. These advantages fall into two main categories: luxury and convenience. The luxuries extend from preferred treatment on the ground to in-flight extras. The conveniences include such benefits as a wide array of destination airports and the ability to dictate departure times.

So, just how luxurious is a private jet? A range of small jets have been designed with different customer needs in mind. Some small aircraft are relatively bare-bones, but they nonetheless offer the prestige of private access. Upgraded small aircraft feature especially well-designed interiors: cabins are configured to provide sleeping quarters, full bathrooms, and/or conference rooms. Some private jet charter groups provide concierge services that stock the passengers’ preferred food, beverages, and audiovisual entertainment.

Luxuries also extend to the airport terminals that serve chartered jets. Small, private airports and private terminals in public airports include more comfort and amenities than do terminals for the masses.

Private jets also offer logistical advantages over mass transport:

  • First, buyers have the freedom to set their own itineraries. In many cases, planes arrive within half a business day of being requested. Return times are set by the traveler too, so using a private jet makes it easier to manage one’s time efficiently.
  • Second, flying a smaller aircraft enables travelers to land at thousands of airports that are not served by large commercial airline companies. This can significantly reduce commute time.
  • Third, people traveling on private jets can usually skip long security lines. In some cases, travelers may skip the airport altogether, parking an auto close to the runway and walking to the chartered aircraft.

In sum, a number of luxuries and conveniences make private jet charters a desirable and practical option for VIP travelers.
